Currently addicted to…
1) WebJay a kind of blogging for music playlists
2) newstudent.org forums for university applicants
3) UCAS Track I keep refreshing the page, but nothing changes!
Currently thinking (out loud) about…
1) Server-side aggregators to centralise my daily reading on a web page.
What I’d ultimately like to aim for is a private homepage hosted on my web server which has links to all my usual bookmarks and a Google Search field as well as sections for serverside aggregation and possibly webmail so I can keep up to date from any computer connected to the web.
It would allow me to view all my RSS feeds (LiveJournal friends and news feeds) on a web page.
I think I’d also like to use Thunderbird for all my emails and RSS though. This means either webmail which checks pop3 but leaves messages on the server or some kind of IMAP account…
Does anyone know how to get an RSS feed of a LiveJournal friends page? Preferably a separate feed for different groups of friends.
2) Better backup solutions for home.
I think I may backup my multimedia (music/pictures/video) to my iRiver Jukebox but 40Gb isn’t really enough. Perhaps a library of writable CDs or DVDs, one for each letter of the alphabet would be better… because I only really need to add to the collection, not remove. I’d need a different solution for my local backup of web sites and my documents folder though.
3) How incredibly ill I feel.
4) How buggy Deepest Sender is.
Currently planning to…
1)Get some sleep
2) Post some pictures of my Christmas.
